2009! about time I wrote something I dare say....
So what does the new year have in store for me?
Well despite appearances I haven't been doing nothing, oh no. I have been embroidering manically. I am currently working on an embroidered animation, the first one is initially just a test as I am also learning flash. At 27 it's about time I learned how to use Flash!!! especially as I profess to be into digital art and craft....
I have recently become slightly obsessed with soft electronics and the cross over with traditional embroidery and soft electronics...
The Open Source Embroidery exhibition was previewed earlier this year in London at HTTP gallery (link to follow), and will be opening at Humlab in Sweden in June. So as you can see, not a quiet year ahead.
well here's a few links that I have been looking at recently to wet the appetite...

New projects

A few new projects are hopefully in the pipeline so I thought I had better blog them....
I spoke with Peter McAdam on Thursday at Katy Merrington's PV. He has been working on developing a software in collaboration with Digital City in Middlesbrough that generates images in response to sound. http://www.mcdada.com/coda
I am planning to approach 'Connecting Principle' to propose showing the work in the Mobile Cinema. It's a really exciting opportunity to show the potentials of the MC as a venue for interactive works as well as AFV.
I was impressed by Katie's work at Harkers the on Thursday. I unfortunately only had chance to listen to one of her works in which she was discussing the influences on Charlotte Brontes character Mrs Rochester in Jane Eyre. I am keen to look at the posibilities of exhibiting either this or other similar works in the caravan. Katie presented a single cut out image of old attic room that is illedged to have inspired Bronte, which operated as the only focal point for the viewer/listener as they were drawn into her spoken narrative. I feel again that this would be an interesting example of the potential of the MC. I recently spoke to Holy Trinity Church in Leeds who were interested in the MC, perhaps this could be a possible collaboration?
